A combinatorial construction of the fusion algebra and quantum cohomology

In this talk I want to give an elementary description of the so-called fusion algebra of modules for the affine sl(n) at level k via non-commutative Schur polynomials. It will be realized explicitly as a quotient of the quantum cohomology ring of a Grassmannian. I want to explain the underlying representation theory and finally compare fusion to quantum cohomology via some sort of "Boson-Fermion-correspondence". The main goal of the talk is to get an explicit description of the rings mentioned above.
